Happy Birthday Manu ...
Nov-15th, first birthday of my angel Manasa. Its been a year since she stepped in to my life, and already she had made a huge impact, i never beleived i would say this, but iamm ...
Normally iam a deep sleeper and if someone disturbs me in sleep i lose my temper so badly, but in the last one year there was not a single day in which i hadnt woke up in the midnight, thanks to Manu.
The best part is, she wakes me up and then laughs/smiles at me, seeing which i forget that its 1am or 2am :-) and most times she wants me to play with her.
Somewhere i read,
How true huh !!!
Ok, coming back to her birthday, it was even more fun when my friend sivabalan entertained the people on the birthday party to stage some events. Am glad to see my friends around me to help on a busy day, i felt high. Thanks siva.
Going back to my early days, in my home town i have seen group of friends work for another friend's function (be it his sisters marriage, brothers marriage, house warming blah blah). It brings in a bonding that cant be put in words, it always makes you feel there is a bunch of friends for you to help you, do anything for you and be with you when needed. But in city i have always seen friends visiting the party/function on time like anyother visitor, i longed for that village culture. May be poeple here are busy in their own life, tied up with things, have own personal commitments .... but what is life for? than to be on his friends side on a important day of his life?

On a short business trip to US. After a tiring, irritating journey alone from Chennai to Washington, the first thing that ran in my mind was the above song from a RAMARAJAN movie.
Roads are wide, clean & neat. Everywhere its BMW, Merc, Camry & Accord, traffic was smooth from Airport to Hotel. The room was so cozy, fully furnished. The hotel has a GYM, play area .... but still i feel a vaccum in my heart. Dont know? I have always liked being in India-Chennai. It feels like safe, secure, joyous even when am struck in a traffic and waiting in Mountroad for hours together. Too early to feel nostalgic, but even a day outside India makes me feel this way.
Its chill out here and even a 5 mins walk to office is like nose breaking with that wind blowing so hard. People say it would be worse in the days to come. Why the hell do many indians long to come to US? I have a close friend who is in US for more than 7~8 years. He too was one of the herd of guys who came to US to do his MS, and as every one of my friends while leaving chennai (the first time), in the airport he said,"machan iam just going to do MS, may be i will work for 1 year after that then i will surely come back da. i cant imagine out of chennai leaving parents, friends for so long." It was way back in 1999. He is still in US visiting chennai, his parents and friends for a 25 day holiday every year. Last time when he was in chennai i visited his home, his mom criend in front of me and asked him to come back but ....
What is that in US that makes people suck in? Why do people, who had been here for sometime doesnt want to go back to their native?
Is it the 45X conversion?
Is it the abundant independence that she gives for everyone? Do whatever you want, live life the way u feel, there is no one to question you here.
Is it the cozy lifestyle that she affords?
Is it because she gives you unlimited oppurtunities?
Is it because people wanna be away from problems (personal, family etc) back home?
There may be more reasons to add to the above ... Someone who is really in that state can elaborate more :-)

Welcome Dhoni ....
Dont get surprised, this welcome is for his captaincy in tests. Some critics were talking about, whether he should be in the test team itself. But now everyone is answered. He is an integral part of the team be it ,ODI &T20.
Onething that i really admire in Dhoni is his ability to stand tall even with very senior players in the team, the way he had handled sachin, dravid, ganguly, yuvi, laxman, sehwag, bhajji etc... mind that all of them are very senior in terms of years of playing cricket forIndia. To lead that bunch you first should beleive in your decissions, normally when a junior is made to lead a bunch of seniors he acts as a mouth piece of senior guys. Never for a moment, one had that feel when Dhoni started leading the team. He is a natural leader and that shows in his body language.
As Ganguly rightly said, Dhoni has that extra bit of luck. Who would have thought that "Joginder Sharma" would bowl the last over of T20 finals, who thought that Praveen kumar will be bowling the new ball in the Tri-Series in Australia.
All said, we see praises showering for Dhoni from all directions as he is on a winning stride but a true leader is tested during the hard times. I hope and sure that Dhoni can handle it too.
For we all know that "It is just a thin line difference between success & disaster".

Politics & Actors....
Its been a great fun to watch all actors launching a party and boasting to become the next CM of TN. Really sad for my own people. What a stage we have set ourselves?
True, the blame should be more on ourselves than the actors.
How many of us know the personal details of the candidate of our constituency when we go for voting? His educational background? His personal background? His past political experience? Whats his contribution to that constituency or any other for that matter? His contribution to the society? His ideology? etc etc ...
When we set out to buy just a cell phone (worth 10,000 RS) we do a comparison of the features, battery life, price range etc etc. We spend atleast a day or two to research (Some spend a week) .... Have we tried this when we go out to VOTE. (Its more precious than cellphone). Price hike in petrol & LPG would have costed you more than this. Have we ever thought of this?
We walk to the booth to select a candidate whom we see as the BEST in the list of WORST available. Have we thought of why have they(all major political parties) fielded these rotten eggs as canditates. Its because we have got accustomed to pick from the lot of worst available.
Atleast lets try this in the coming election. There may be an deserving independent candidate search for him and vote.
Iam going to try this ....
